Representatives of Sam Sung Vietnam disclosed that after only 4-5 months, workers at Sam Sung factories in Vietnam had improved 80% productivity compared to South Korean ones. Meanwhile, only with 20% was the cost paid by Sam Sung for Vietnamese workers.

This continues to show that abundant, cheap labor is still one of the advantages of attracting FDI in Vietnam in 2018 and following years.
Looking back at the picture of FDI attraction in 2017, Vietnam saw a boom of investment capital inflows through contribution, share purchase and the return of billion-dollar projects; Total foreign investment in Vietnam, thereby, reached $35.88 billion, up 44.4% over the same period in 2016.

This result includes the project of increasing investment capital of Sam Sung Display Bac Ninh up to $2.5 billion and gas pipeline project, Lo B - O Mon with a total investment capital of about $1.27 billion in Kien Giang.

The magnet attracts FDI

Recent survey results from PwC showed that about 47% of foreign investors intended to increase their investment in Vietnam in 2018.

Ms. Dinh Thi Quynh Van, General Director of PwC Vietnam, said: " Not only is Vietnam a good consumer market for its products with young population but also a center for the export of the region thanks to the advantages of political and macroeconomic stability, as well as the Government's commitment to the business environment. In addition, the divestment of state-owned enterprises is also a new opportunity to attract foreign investors".

Previously, domestic and international experts also predicted that, with the increasing position in the region and in the world, the investment environment has seen positive changes, Vietnam will surely maintain its growth momentum to at least 2020 and a "magnet" to attract FDI in 2018.
