70% of Japanese Enterprises Will Expand their Investment in Vietnam in 2018

Investment in VietnamThis is the result of a survey report on situation of production and business activities of Japanese enterprises in Asia and Australia in 2017 announced by the Japan Business Association (JETRO) on February 6 in Hanoi. Once again, Vietnam proves it an attractive investment destination that can not miss in 2018 .

The survey was conducted by JETRO through a questionnaire on the performance of Japanese businesses investing in 20 countries and territories in Asia and Australia.

70% of Japanese businesses in Vietnam plan to expand their business and continue to see Vietnam as an important investment destination thanks to its profitable business operations up to 65.1% in the total 1345 enterprises.

 In Vietnam, JETRO surveyed 4,630 enterprises and received valid responses from 652 Japanese enterprises in Vietnam.

In 2017, 65.1% of businesses made a profit, while the number of Japanese enterprises reported a loss of 19.4%. According to the types of enterprise, the manufacturing industry has a rate of 67.5% of export processing enterprises make profits, which is higher than the average.

Accordingly, about 88% of businesses said that the main reason for Japanese businesses to expand business in Vietnam is due to increased turnover.
The JETRO report also points out that the potential of market size, growth, stable socio-political conditions and low labor costs is primary reason keeping them in Vietnam either.
