On the occasion of big corporations attending
events in the APEC Summit Week 2017, city leaders had a meeting and invited
corporations from the United States, Japan, The United Kingdom, Switzerland,
Thailand, and so on to make investment.

It
is recognized that Japan is
ranked first in total number of investment projects and ranked third in total
foreign direct investment, Tho said that Da Nang confirmed Japan as an
important investment and trade partner. Therefore, Da Nang focuses on calling
and supporting existing investors through dialogues, problem solving, periodic
recommendations for Japanese enterprises, setting up of Japan Investment
Promotion Team (Japan Desk), representative office of Da Nang in Japan.
Mr. Huynh Duc Tho
supposed Mitsui & Co to research and carry out investment in new projects
and cooperate with city businesses in the coming time.
On behalf of Mitsui
& Co., Mr.Masahiro Moriyasu shared: Mitsui & Co is one of the largest
corporations in Japan and the world with 139 offices in 66 countries /
territories and 469 subsidiaries/branches.
Based on the
performance and strength of the Group in terms of distribution (iron,
machinery, chemicals, processed food), energy, finance, infrastructureinvestment, he suggested Da Nang and the Group to set up the group to implement
the proposals of the city leaders in researching and investing in
infrastructure development projects of the city such as Lien Chieu port,
railway station relocation and urban redevelopment project.

Chairman Huynh Duc Tho
focused on introducing Da Nang's investment environment to corporations in the
fields of industry, information technology, infrastructure, tourism, services
and healthcare. He expected the corporations to increasingly seek investment
opportunities and to make long-term business, mutual benefits in Vietnam in
general and Da Nang in particular. Dr. Philipp Rosler, Executive Director of
the World Economic Forum (WEF) shared the view with the corporations when
appreciating that Danang is well prepared for the APEC Summit 2017 as well as
its efforts to connect, introducing business opportunities to the city.
Talking about issues
that concern corporations, especially high technology, information technology,
infrastructure, health care, pharmaceuticals, tourism ... Chairman Huynh Duc
Tho asserted, beside the advantages of scenic beauty, the city is trying to
further improve the business investment environment, supporting, promoting
economic connection for businesses.
Da Nang is very
interested in human resource development, administrative reform, IT application
to meet the needs of investors, of which focusing on infrastructure development
together with a number of projects has been invested such as: Da Nang hi-tech park,
Lien Chieu port, railway station relocation, centralized software park 2, new
industrial zones (Hoa Nhon, Hoa Ninh, Hoa Son), hospital, international
university ...
Mr. Truong Gia Binh -
